What’s your supermarket’s animal testing policy?

Last updated June 2026

As most UK shoppers buy groceries in supermarkets, we feel it’s so important to provide more information about their animal testing policies.

We don’t endorse supermarkets because they sell such a wide range of products, including own-brand medicinal products. However, our information below shows which supermarkets would meet our criteria if we were just considering their own-brand personal care and household products.

We’ve asked the UK supermarkets to confirm whether they have Fixed Cut-Off Dates (FCODs) for their personal care and household cleaning products, whether they sell their products in China and may be subject to testing there, and whether their parent company has the same animal testing policy as them.

The information on this page is not indicative of endorsement.

Aldi

We confirmed with Aldi that they have an FCOD animal testing policy for their UK operations. Aldi South Group their parent company do not allow testing on animals for finished products or ingredients, unless it’s required by law. Therefore, we do not consider their parent company to be cruelty-free.
